An excursion on foot in the Boscoforte Peninsula, in the heart of the Comacchio Valleys, where the Po Delta Park reveals its most intimate and wild face. This is also where the Viae Sancti Romualdi (VSR) trail starts. A suspended place, where time slows down and silence becomes a tale.
It was precisely in Boscoforte, 1000 years ago, on the island that was then called Pereo, that a saint who made European history, St Romuald, founder of Camaldoli, took his first steps as a hermit and anchorite. Accompanied by a priest, Don Massimo Goni, we will experience a moment of intense spirituality on the anniversary of the saint's death, (19 June 1027) in anticipation of the millennium that will be celebrated next year.
This corner of paradise is an ancient dune cordon formed in Etruscan times and preserved by years of being closed to the public, which has allowed a very rich biodiversity of species.
The area is characterised by a remarkable variety of environments linked to the simultaneous presence of fresh and brackish water: reed beds, salt marshes, salt marshes, sandy rises and canals.
During the excursion, equipped with binoculars and together with our guides, you can identify the different species living in this area.
The walk is approximately 6 km long and is very easy, in flat terrain. Activity suitable for everyone. Dogs not allowed.
